Let’s Talk About HCI Design!

Hello World! Welcome to my space. My name is Yujingai (Emmy) Shi, and I was born in winter in a Chinese city with a 1500-meter altitude that is famous for planting roses in deserts.
As a college student who aspires to pursue a research and education career in computational cognitive neuroscience, I hope I can also explore human cognition from another perspective: computers and machines. Therefore, delving into the area of human-computer interaction (HCI) design presents me with a new world of interdiscplinary disciplines.
Let’s dive into the universe of HCI design through the four projects and the design manifesto below.
I hope you enjoy!
Design Manifesto
This is an AI-generated photo based on my favorite filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki’s style and my original photo illustrating a good human-computer interaction. Then, welcome to my Design Manifesto.
Project 1: Design for Dimensions
Created Websites fit for Laptop size, iPad size, and smart watch size to help elderly people have a comfortable news-reading experience
Project 2: Design for Understanding
Inspired by Crowded Airport dataset, aiming to provide users various types of visualizations on density of airports across the world.
Project 3: Design for Another World
Employing VR techniques to explore a potential way for people who have Aphantasia to create dreams.
Project 4: Re-design & Extend
Employing 3 dimensional prototypes to help people with visual impairments to use auditory and kinesthetic feedback to “visualize” data
